LIPS

The best candidates for permanent lip color are individuals with naturally faint lip color. People with scars or discoloration around the lips, people with uneven lips, those who simply want to save time.

• Do not work out the day of the procedure.
• Do not tan or have any kind of sunburns on the face.
• Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil or Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure.
• No alcohol or caffeine 2 days before the procedure.
• Hydrate your lips 2 days before your appointment.
• Lips must be in perfect conditions.
• If you tend to get blisters (Herpes) with frequency please ask your doctor for antiviral medication to avoid activating the virus.

Please be aware that the result of the procedure is depending on the following: Medication and health conditions, Skin Conditions (oily and poor skin, very dry/flaky skin, sun-damaged skin or loose skin, Natural skin undertones), Alcohol intake and smoking, General stress, immune system, Poor diet and not following the aftercare instructions, may affect your healed results.

Antacids, thyroid and anxiety medications have been reported as interfering with permanent makeup either by affecting retention or shifting the pigment to an undesirable tone. Remember, everything we eat and drink have their own chemical structure and the electron ends that are unattached or free, may get attached to others compounds inside the body forming a new molecule that may show a different color spectrum. With that info, an educated client may have better expectation and know that she / he may need more frequent adjustments that others. The better condition your skin is in, the better the final result will be. Mature clients may need an additional one to two weeks healing for the final results to appear. The better you take care of your skin and protect it from UV rays, the better the outcome and lifespan of the permanent cosmetic procedures.

Day 1

It is very important to remove the lymph from the surface of the skin in order to avoid heavy scabbing. Right after the procedure clean the lips with a damp cotton (using clean bottled water) every 30 min until bedtime. Before sleep, if the lips still got some dry lymph then wash with lukewarm water gently removing the dry lymph, pat dry and apply Aquaphor Healing Ointment (you can find it in any grocery store, kids section).

Sometimes the lips can bruise even after the procedure, do not worry, the bruising will go away within couple hours after the procedure.

Wait one hour after the procedure to eat and/or dink.

Day 2

The lips may be swollen the second day as well. Please do not ice the lip’s skin. Keep your lips moist at all times; do not let the lips to be dry.

During the first week

• Everyone’s skin has its own healing process and duration. It is recommended to apply ointment as long as the skin is still scabbed and even after. The ointment will help your skin regenerate faster and better.
• Please drink all liquids with a straw until all scabbing has naturally fallen off.
• Brush with Toms of Maine or Classic Crest (no whitening, no peroxide toothpastes).
• Cut food into small bites….no biting into a sandwich.
• To avoid infection, do NOT kiss until scabs have completely come off.
• No oral sexual activity during healing.
• Do not use makeup, cosmetic products or any cream in the area (except for the healing cream).
• No Sauna, pool, Beach, sunbathing.
• Avoid facial treatment that involves Massage and steaming.
• Avoid touching the treated area.
• DO NOT PEEL the scabs at all, you may cause scarring if otherwise.
• Avoid drinking liquor.
• Avoid excessive sweating.
• Avoid smoking as this alters the color of the pigment.

Herpes Simplex. People who get fever blisters / cold sores may experience an outbreak after lip procedures. Antiviral prescription might be taken (prescribed by a doctor).

Right after the procedure, the color will look very intense, between the 3rd and 10th day the color will get lighter (sometimes will look completely gone) and then it will reappear, gaining intensification gradually.

Touch up is best to be done 8 weeks (this is not always needed).

A successful treatment depends on:

• Skin quality
• Post-treatment care
• Exposure to various external influences.

None of these factors are under the artist’s control, thus providing any guarantee for the treatment in not possible.

• Pregnant or nursing
• Diabetic
• Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)
• Viral infections and/or diseases
• Epilepsy
• Pacemaker or major heart problems
• Organ transplant
• Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)
• Sick (cold, flu, etc.)
• Botox in the past 2 weeks
